This course will give you practical hands on experience in the traditional art of coppicing. You will work an area of woodland to be coppiced and cleared for future regeneration.
This course will cover planning the area of woodland to be worked on, identifying the different species of trees within and practical coppicing.
You will learn which material to select, how to process it, storage of useful timber and how to create natural habitats for all the related wildlife.
You will gain an understanding of how neglected woodland can be transformed into a productive coppice.
