Course Descriptio

The ancient practice of cobbling goes back thousands of years and overtime cobbles have adorned roads, stately homes and farm yards.

Working with the Exmoor National Park we are aiming to restore a historic site deep in the heart of Exmoor.

This course is designed to gain you knowledge of this ancient practice of laying cobbles. You will learn how the stones can be laid to form drains, water gulleys and decorative features. By hand you will learn to form a walkway to last hundreds of years to come.

You will need:

  • All the necessary tools will be provided for laying the cobbles, although you are welcome to bring your own gloves and/or knee pads if you have them.
  • A BBQ lunch, tea and coffee and fresh drinking water will be provided.
  • You will need sturdy footwear and bags of enthusiasm.
  • Appropriate clothing for all weathers!

No prior experience is necessary to attend this course.
